Just a bit of nothing.

Final projects and portfolios due in 2 days for my art classes. Actual finals start the same day, but I only have 2 to worry about. Probably hanging around here a few more days before heading to Miami to visit the family.

Before that though, diving at the Epcot Living Seas aquarium (the one with the restaurant attached?) this weekend on Saturday night with the family and friends. Looking forward to having sharks in the tank with us. I've only run into a few little lemon sharks doing dives in the Keys. Expect to see pictures!

DSO clan has plans to open a Gears of War 2 division soon. I'm stoked about that! Though I need to get more people on my list that play it instead of halo (XD).

Almost the end of the year! You've heard it in the podcasts a few times. I really hope that we can get together and do a GTR round table to duke it out on what we consider the top games of 2008.

Of course, I also expect to see lots of people at Community Vib3 IV in Feb. Totally stoked about that too. Paustin owes me an amazing milkshake and I think I owe him cookies. I don't care if you're older than me, I'm still going to poke at you. Besides, you get tons of hugs for being awesome and finding fuzzy videos on youtube hehe.

That's enough of my rambling. Still have more work to do on my projects. Hope to get the update for Gears 2 this weekend so I can play online. Darn my school's network!

Off that Common beat...

I met this girl when I was just fifteen
And what I loved most was pretty pixels on the screen
I was old school and she was just a shorty
She was so beautiful, but she sold poorly
Played game soundtracks off the disc, such an excentricty
I copped Virtua Fighter, and even the Alien trilogy
Virtua Cop, Mega Man, and even NBA Jam Extreme
But after awhile good games were far and few in between
It's like they almost started slackin'
But then they came out with panzer dragoon.
The last game I picked up was Madden '98
poor sales in retail, not enough food on their plate
So she was repackaged, and sold for 150 dollars
3 games included, yet the public couldn't be bothered
Playstation murdred Sega's hopes, crushed their dreams fast
They'd yell dejavu, years later with dreamcast.
Now I flashback to times, having friends over and I would own rooks!
But she was locked away in the bottom drawer with the phonebooks.

I tell ya...I miss her.

I've been neglecting my dreamcast lately, only because I'm too lazy to take it out of the box and plug it in, play with it, then stick it back in the box. No, no. That's too much work for me. However, I've been jonesin' lately to play Shenmue.

I used to play this often back in the early aughts. My roommate owned a copy, as well as the dreamcast. I spent hours upon hours locked up in the room playing the classic RPG. This was many moons ago.

I eventually bought my own Dreamcast (years later at a discount price). One of the first games I had to have for it was Shenmue. After months of tracking one down I finally got it, and tried to relive the adventures I had as a young college student eating ramen noodles, listening to The Chronic 2001, and getting thrown out of the club for wearing baggy jeans. The dress code was strrrrrrrict.

After a few weeks I let the game just sit there. I'm older now and my job takes precedent over video games and other types of ill stuff. The game was fun...loads of fun. I just wish I had time to play it.

So I'm not entirely sure if I'll be able to get everything down, but definitely gonna try.

First off, traffic sucked and it took us nearly two hours to get there. You guys suck at giving directions and I suck at following them. :eek:

Shoutouts to my friends who came along: Kat, Nikki, Kendrick, Nick and Rob.

I had fun hanging out with everyone. Awesome to see Ross, Julie, JVB, baked ant, James, Luke and everyone else. Hanging out with Godfree, Peterocc and Kirby afterward was sweet too.

Nick and I did the Halo 3 tourney, but we failed miserably. I have no shame about it though so yay! Congrats to the winners (no idea who XD).

Kind of sad that I missed out on the podcast, but it was fun hanging out with everyone regardless. Gotta do it again.

I've been on vacation from my job all week, and I'm finally able to get in some all night gaming tonight.

So I told the old lady that I planned to stay up late tonight gaming, in order to guarantee that I'll be up early enough to go see the A.M. movies downtown. I'm only doing this because I have a full day tomorrow and I want to get in at least two movies.

Her response was, "You're out of you're F'in mind!"

Little does she know of my insomniac past. Back in the day...man, staying up late was an everyday thing.

In closing, I will be gaming late tonight if anyone wants to hop on with me.

Oh, and I got both my hitman and Fight club achievements last night in SR2. I'm still trying to unlock that BASE jumping reward. So I might work on that tonight.

I got a four pack of Red Bull, two charged up battery packs, my games, a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

I've been playing SR2 for some time now and I only have one question for the masses. Where is my Fight Club Achievement??!!

I went through all six levels and I should have heard the little "blidoop!" But I heard nothing. And just to make sure it wasn't an F-up on my part, I went through and played the damn thing all over again. Still nothing.

Also, why can't I clear the Hitman activity? I snuffed everyone on every list...still nothing. Is there a secret level of Hitman that I must unlock? Geez...this is like playing The Legend of Zelda again.

PS: I can't wait for the release of the game with the really long name. Super Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix. I've been waiting for it forever! Seriously. Forever!

I always forget about posting blogs. It's been a while, yeah?

Anyways, just posting up about me = happy. Gotten to play Fable 2 (which is amazing, minus load times, and addicting), Mirror's Edge (which I like lots) and hopefully GOW2 soon.

I'm super stoked for NARP this Friday. I have several good friends going with me plus my roomie. She says she'll be there to laugh at me o.O

And I finally remembered I have a Twitter *gasp* That's a concept. And I should really get back to class....

I just put in a good 3 hr session on my pc and wow this game is so fun. Even when you get your ass handed to you I often find myself laughing hysterically. Playing the versus mode is really cool as you battle your friends, alternating survivor/infected every checkpoint. If any of you plan to get this game, either for PC or 360, hit me up, cause I got them for both :D.

Far Cry 2

So I have been trying to play Far Cry 2 and its so hard on a CRT TV. They should have system requirements on the box saying HDTV required. I'm playing on Infamous so just running up to the bad guys and hold right trigger doesn't work. The AI in this game is amazing they implement tactics in battle telling one guy to flank me while he creates a diversion it's awesome. In order to take out my enemies I have been sneaking around them, staying off the roads, and avoiding the use of vehicles. Using such tactics requires me to stay a distance away from the badies and that makes it near impossible to see anyone. Iron sighting doesn't help nearly enough so have to the scouting feature which requires me to take out my map. Unfortunately by the time I get rid of my map and switch to a weapon the enemy has already moved. Looks like I'm going to have to put off playing through this game until I get my HDTV over here. :errf:
