It’s about the new experience that defines next gen for me and not the higher pixel count..

By your comment I can tell you started gamer around the NES/Sega era because will all feel that way

I follow HHG on twitter he’s good dude he speaks his mind but I have to disagree with on this one. Titanfall is a great game . I like to say that titanfall is a stepping stone for next gen Fps and xbl. it shows that devs can still think outside the box. It shows that the xbl cloud actually also brings an experience that hasn’t be done before.HHG kinda contradict himself with this because all of last month his was posting pics of COD Ghost and they were like “OMG next gen ghost is amazing” but that same game uses the same exact engine as titanfall so how can one be next gen and other one not

It certainly doesn’t start with Titanfall when it’s releasing on X360 as well as next-gen. In fact, I am so convinced that Titanfall will look and play fine on X360 that we won’t see a shred of gameplay until the XB1 Titanfall has been out for at least a week.

Call me when Project Spark releases, The Division, hell, even Infamous look truly next gen compared to Titanfall. Compare Titanfall to The Order and graphically, there isn’t even a debate.

After hearing both sides of the ale I think that both HHG and Paris present a great argument. There is no one defining definition of what next gen is. We all have our own thoughts on the topic. After listing to both sides I would have to say, in my personal opinion next gen is a combination of both arguments presented. Every new console cycle up until this point has been a big leap as Paris stated. However it could be argued that the one real sign of a next gen system where always graphics. I guess most people are still in that mind state some what while others takes Paris point of view in saying that next gen means new experiences. I agree with both sides. To me next gen is a combination of the former along with seeing and expounding on current and new technology to further push the boundaries of play that we have not seen before. I know that most will not agree with that but this is my own personal meaning of next gen. What does next gen mean to you?

As a frequent listener of the GTR podcast and all ’round gamer of most gaming console’s, I’ll just leave my two cents. What I want to say is of simple understanding really. TitanFall as Godfree mentioned is an independent developed game from a upcoming small game development studio (Respawn), that are aiming to market their game as the next big shooter in the gaming industry (kinda like Halo,Gears & of course COD).
Hearing these debates all over the gaming media, to me personally just seem to me that it’s losing it’s focus and leaning towards possibly fallen into the over hyped disappointment category. I say let Respawn or EA continue with their plans to sell TitanFall to whichever goal their willing to achieve.
Once it’s successful then …only then those publishers/development studios should consider making TitanFall’s sequel or successor a Multiplatform title for all gamer’s to experience.
Until then, I’ll sit by the wayside and probably consider getting TitanFall on whichever launch date platform or just chill at my buddy’s crib and play it there.
Ya’know it’s actually a bit funny, I’m viewing this tug-a-war of the TitanFall debate and whichever preferred platform gamer’s want TitanFall on, similar to the exclusivity deal Nintendo publishers made with Platinum games upcoming title “Bayonetta 2″. My guess is that if TitanFall could possibly reach it’s goal, would be a task for all xbox and PC owner’s to chip in supporting Respawn to reach their goal and make out this game as it will be for awhile.” If not Successful “and I’m saying that will happen which it shouldn’t, well gamer’s just prefer Call of Duty transcending into PS4 and XBOXONE more, which COD btw already is multiplat across all gaming platforms and have a trustworthy competitive fan-base. So TitanFALL and Of course Destinty will have alot to live up to moving forward in the gaming industry.
Worse case scenario TitanFall is a sleeper hit, I personally don’t wan’t that to happen and this is coming from me a heavy PlayStation console gamer, which btw also owns a XBOX 360 slim (get at me fanboy only if misread lol). lol’ OK aiight I’m done… damn sounds like I ranted oh well time to boot up that PS4/FF14 BETA ahhh shit.”PLEASE UNDERSTAND” Stay frosty Gamer’s.

Next Gen to me is most importantly gaming experience that what keeps me coming back, as well as the brand new ways to experience playing a videogame discovered in most ground breaking new gaming genre’s.
An example (fps to 3rd person fps, rpg/rts to action rpg/rts, action game to tactical espionage stealth action, single/local multiplayer to online co-op/multiplayer and lastly Arcade to Console/PC). Notice how graphic’s isn’t mentioned, that’s because it’s just a selling point to me and nothing more, but it’s good to have I guess.

I’ll say this you can’t paint a old house and sell as a new one but you can build a house using the same foundation and lumber a old house would use with a new model structure but use a paint color a older house would have and sell it as new. In other words yes titanfall uses a older engine but the game play experience is brand new no other game has done so it should be labeled as a proper next gen game. Just cause cod ghost, battlefield, killzone have newer paint jobs don’t mean there not the same games as there predecessor
