Holy shit, that one guy is a stubborn idiot. “Guys, always online doesn’t mean you can’t play your games offline”.

YES IT DOES. What in the hell is so cryptic about the words ALWAYS ONLINE?! Where have you been the last several years between all the Ubi garbage and Sim City?

The phrase “always online” in the context of gaming specifically relates to a system requiring that you be connected to the Internet in. Order to keep playing a game (ala Sim City). I seriously have to wonder if the guy is truly ignorant or just trolling by acting like ALWAYS ONLINE just means “your console is drawing power from the wall”.

Every time I try to listen to this podcast, it sounds like a bunch of mouth breathing morons who don’t have the slightest idea what is going on in the world.

    • Dumb

Oh god, the girl is even dumber. She thinks people are upset because they think always on means you can never turn the console off and it is constantly spying on your home.

ALWAYS ON means that a game requires a constant Internet connection to keep playing the game. No connection or drooped connection? You’re done playing.

Seriously, what does always on connection even have anything to do with electricity?! How is this something that supposedly huge gamers ( enough to have 400 podcasts) are so ignorant about?!

I think you along with many like yourself are taking this way too seriously.

First of all thanks for downloading the show. Why hide and post a fake name? No one knows what Microsoft are planning to announce. This is all rumors! Show me an official announcement.

        My thoughts Exactly…

    • mboojigga

Steam is always online with an offline mode that didn’t work all the time before. Always online doesn’t mean you can’t play your games offline.

  • trekx

First off most people dont have a clue what “Always online” means because its nothing new. The Nintendo Wii had it the Wii U has it. Its just always connected for updates and push notices. But i think that it is a good thing that Adam Orth’s said what he did, because it shows Microsoft how piss off the gamers are going to be over this. Although i dont think that Microsoft will do anything that’s going to force people over to the PS4. So that being said again this is just yet another rumor now wait for some actual facts.

  • mboojigga

Also it is just sad how people are reacting to rumors. If anything MS has people talking about them. I mean this is the leader in online IMO. I think they know what they are doing.

Always Online is an option on current consoles. If it is a REQUIREMENT, that’s another story. I doubt they’ll make it MANDATORY to be online. THat just doesn’t seem reasonable.
