Godfree’s, Gamertag Radio’s Big Announcement is Here

Godfree’s been teasing you all for months about it. He’s mentioned it on the Gamertag Radio podcast for a few episodes now. We’ve been hinting at it too on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ — you name it. Heck, I even told my neighbor’s cousin’s pet (a cat who doesn’t even listen to GTR) that something big was brewin’.

 And now, we’re ready to pull those curtains. So what’s the big news? Well…

Our very own Godfree, or Danny Peña, as he signs his documents, will have his own web-based gaming show for Discovery Channel Latin America. The show will be launching soon, and more details about it will be trickling out from this day forth. Of course, I won’t be spoiling anything by saying the show will feature all the latest gaming news, reviews and (in my best Godfree voice) “exclusive” interviews.

Here’s something he said in his own voice: “I’m excited that after all these years of hard work and perseverance, we’re getting this opportunity to take Gamertag Radio to the next level.”

You can take that as reassurance that Gamertag Radio isn’t going anywhere. We’ll all still be here, bringing you weekly shows and news and reviews on our website. And Godfree’s partnership with Discovery Channel Latin America will bring GTR opportunities to give you readers and listeners even more awesome content.

    Another example in a long list of what kind of a person Danny is. It’s impossible to predict these kinds of things when you’re recording chats in game lobbies but it’s nice to know achievements like this are possible if you stay motivated.

    If you start broadcasting your shows in spanish, I will no longer listen to them (obviously because I dont speak spanish).  So that’s the only negative thing I see from this.  Congrats though!  Next step is getting your own TV-based show, then getting your own TV channel (like G4TV).  And it all started out with internet podcasts!
