I was strategizing on how to rearrange my setup when my console comes in.. Then I saw that adapter. threw the whole plan off. I should be able to charge MS rent for having to keep that thing in my house...

Why cant Nintendo do like Sega already and throw in the towel on building systems and do what they do best...make games.

Honestly how can anyone judge what the Revolution will be without playing it first. Let's just wait and see how it turns out. I'm personally interested in how it will turn out myself.

I can tell you that the gamecube didn't live up to any of the gamecube hype.."Were about taking names" LMAO...that little baby lunchbox did nothing for me and still doesn't. Oh now that the americans brought online gaming to over 2 million people..they are now gonna think it is important. I dont care for handhelds either or stuffed Yoshi dolls.
How many times can you recycle the same stuff? If I was a little kid it would probably be more appealing. Cute little boxes and weird controllers dont sell me.

Well you can't compare the Revolution from to the Gamecube. That's like comparing the N64 to the Super NES. They are 2 different systems. As for recycling games how many games on X360 are original? Not many IIRC most are sequels and rehashes. It doesn't mean they aren't fun but you can't use the argument of recycling games. I personally happen to like my Gamecube a lot as well as my PS2, PSP, and Xbox also. Every system has some great games and as a gamer I really don't care what platform a game is on if it's fun. That's the difference between the American market and some other markets. We buy whatever looks "cool" and not necessarily whats good even though sometimes cool looking games are good too.

If I was to use preliminary logic on unreleased systems then I probably never would have bought a Xbox because Halo wasn't looking hot at all at E3 2001 and there weren't any other launch games I even considered buying the system for originally.

The two most important things to me are FPS and online gaming..this is the whole reason I got with the xbox in the first place. What is the revolution gonna do for me? Give me a mario fps? no thanks..it is too late the rehash the goldeneye(n64) great game which was the first game that got me hooked on fps in the first place. But after that they dropped the ball and didn't do anything to push the genre forward..instead they wanted to make a bunch of games with cute characters and mini games...no thanks.
Microsoft picked that ball up and ran with it. I am a member of the live community and plan on staying here. I replaced my N64 with a dreamcast long ago.and then to xbox and now to the 360. I dont plan on walking backwards.

Well there may not be a Mario FPS but there will definately be a Metroid Prime sequel. If you like FPS you should definately try it out as it was a very intelligently designed game and a lot of fun. There was also alot of the same FPS games on Gamecube as Xbox. Obviously the MS games weren't on it but most of the multiplatform stuff was.

I'm really not saying you should go out and buy a Gamecube or a revolution for that matter. I do think you should at least let them show some games and try it out before you totally write it off. There may be games that you really like on it if you try it once it comes out. Either way though if you are dead set on remaining loyal to one company then that's cool too and more power to you for that.

P.S. - A lot of those games despite having cutesy characters and no realistic graphics win a lot of awards and praise for their gameplay and Super Smash Brothers Melee receives a huge following in the professional circuit.

I tried Metroid and it is not my game..rolling around like a little ball and very far from reality. This is just my opinion and I know several of their games won awards. But not from the type of gamer I am. Resident evil was about the only title that looked playable on gc to me. All the other games look cartoony and fake/ fantasy-make believe worlds. And what is a FPS without online multiplayer...the days of 4 way splitscreen wore out for me long ago. Nothing better than having your own screen and playing against your buds without having to smell them..lol..
I am in no way doubting their skill in making games and as I said earlier in this thread I wish they would make games and not systems. Sony worst nightmare would be for Nintendo to make games for the 360.

I like the Xbox 360 controller, it only took me a sec to get used to it.

Same here. After playing PSO for 6 month i tried PS 2 and the controllers felt so tiny and uncomfortable.
For me the Dreamcast controller was the best, all it needed was a better D-pad.That D-pad stuck out of the controller way too much.It didnt really matter until Capcom Vs SNK came out.God Rugal was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohard to kill.

What about the PS3's controllers? Not to be Cliche, but it looks like a boomerang! I mean, it doesn't look comfortable, at all. It could be another flop like the orginal Xbox controller, you know, the humongo one. I was looking forward toward Metal Gear Solid 4 but ever since I saw the controller I might just wait.
Oh, and by the way, if you haven't seen the video, you can check it out at our favorite nintendo loving site:

It's the first video on the right, so check it out!!

I agree with you, sorta. I always thought video games were an escape from reality, not a channel in which to experiance it less astoundly in the glory of a game console. My fear is that in the regular quest for realism game developers will sacrifice good game play for better graphics and even more complicated squad commands. I play halo 2 a lot and people say it is so far from realism that it isn't funny. Well, the lack of realism in Halo 2 is one of the reasons I play it. That is sorta why I don't enjoy playing Ghost Recon to much.

I have heard/read that rumor too that MGS franchise will be multi platform. The developer said that xbox 360 would be just as easy to develop for as PS3 and that had they had a xbox360 developer kit available a couple of years ago then they would have considered a two console launch of MGS4 but since they were already into the development of the game the time was not available.
