mixed feelings about the 360 .. anyone else?

k well ive been lookin at all the 360 games and so far only gears of war looks next gen to me. the rest all look like they have graphics like chaos theory for the xbox. I want an xbox 360 but can someone give me some reasons as to why??? cuz so far all my freinds say im dumb for wanting a 360..

Well NBA2k6 has an amazing graphics but I rather hear good music and better gameplay.

I'm an old skool gamer... old skool i tell you. In hot second i'll fire up Techmo Bowl, before Madden and game all day. I've come a long way in the graphics dept. I see GR:AW was pushed back due to the Graphics that was displayed at X05. I wont get it fro the door, but i'll eventually get it.

Some of the games displayed at E3 and TGS(much less so at X05) disappointed in the graphics dept. I think it's only normal as:
1- most of them were very far from final
2- the graphical leap from generation to generation is only getting smaller
3- this is just the first batch of games for a new console. Do you guys remember the first series of games for the first box or ps2? Quite a few regrets there.

In terms of gameplay, though, as well as multimedia and connectivity(live), and all the little add-ons, things are moving as well as we could reallistically hope for. That's my opinion.

Dont base your opinion on launch titles..I question alot of them myself and think a percentage of them were probably x-box titles now bumped up to jump on the 360 wagon.
Look at the processing power/gpu...once a developer starts pushing the 360 to the limits it will be insane and games will get to a point that every element will become interactive/destrucatable.
Also there are major upgrades to live and the way it will connect the community and lets not leave out that your 360 can become the entertainment hub of your household...

graphics look great. the thing is, think about the improvement in games since the xbox's launch, the graphics are so much better now. As deveolpers get accustomed to the new system things will just get better. It's already a huge leap forward though.

Try a larger store that isn't doing pre-orders like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc...

i personally wont be getting a 360, money problems, but remember if u have doughts about the 360 game lineup just use the original xbox games. If i got a 360 i was just going to use it to play Halo2 and maybe get the new madden06 then get the new Ghost Recon whenever it comes out.

Hello Folks , This is my first post , hooray for me. I have absolutely no doubt that the 360 is the choice console for me I pre-ordered at my local EB I'm number 51 , I called yesterday and they informed me that they will be getting 18-20 consoles at launch- bummer. Does any one know if MS will combine shipments ? Thanks in advance, oh and if I don't reply its because I'm posting from work.:cool:

So what are you going to do wait for the PS3 that will be available NEXT Xmas? While I agree that most 360 games IMO dont look like what I would consider true next-gen, PGR3 looks incredible. I've played CoD 2 and it is friggin tight! Remember how crappy the 1st gen PS2 games looked and remember how much better they got? Thats what you have to expect from the 360. I've had mine pre-ordered for 4 months and am #3 on the list. Hell, look at it this way, if you get one at launch and you dont like it you can probably sell it on Ebay for more than you paid for it.

Also wanted to mention, i wasnt bashing the PS3...I will get one of those as well.:p

I mean it is a reasonable price and all, but I am confused about a couple things:
1) Whats with the Core System? Which one's better? I don't quite understand that. I guess I'm slow...
2) Should I try and get it for Christmas, or am I screwed? I hear all these people talking about how they're already sold-out, but how long do you think it will take for the price to go down after Christmas?

Other than the price issues though, I think the system is awesome. I mean... wireless controllers? Come on! You cant go wrong.

well i think if you dont have it pre ordered already then your better off just taking this time to wait and see what happens with the launch....i have a feeling that there will be a major price drop in the near future....oh and the core system is for suckaassssssss

Microsoft said they will drop the price when PS3 comes out.PS3 will be expansive so they want to take advantage of that.

Bear this in mind as well, if you buy a core system you WILL NEED A MEMORY CARD for your save and those run $49.99 i believe...so for another 50 bucks kick it up for the Deluxe version.

Also if you haven't pre-ordered a 360 yet your only chance is to hit Walmart at Midnite on the 22nd or wait in line at a BB or CC.

As far as the price drop goes M$ has already said that yes there will be price drop but as GhostDog said, it wont happen till the PS3 hits the streets. It would be incredibly stupid for M$ to just give money away like that, especially after the losses they have taken from the current gen XBox.
