"Mr. DiMino is being intellectually dishonest with everything he has said about this game, and the event in question. I wasn't able to attend the event due to previous commitments, but I know a lot of people - including journalists - who went, and they all confirmed that the event was definitely NOT a failure. It was everything they figured it would be: virtually no steak, but a lot of sizzle, not to mention alcohol." - Dailygamesnews

As you can tell with a post like this I should be reporting live from Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops event tonight where Treyarch will be unveiling for the first time the multiplayer action for the highly anticipated Call of Duty Black Ops. About the same time, 2 years ago I was in Los Angeles poolside with the guys at Treyarch and asking them if they really thought that World at War had a chance against Infinity Ward's (RIP) version Modern Warfare. Their response was hell yeah. And you know what? To an extent, they were right.
Some of you probably remember the article posted earlier this year by Roger Ebert writing on how video games can never be art. Responses to it came up in articles, podcasts and all over twitter.
Interestingly enough, an article speaking on why video games can be art appeared on the front page of CNN.com today (as I was browsing my merry way) under the Tech heading.
While I may not agree with all the examples Scott Steinberg, the article's author, uses, I still give him credit for the perspective he writes on.
