This week on The Balcony:

On episode four of The Balcony, Parris welcomes the host of the Level Zero podcast, Robert Clarke.

We open the show with an in-depth discussion of the Xbox One reveal, digital downloads and the impact it will have on the used games and rental markets respectively.

And as we close the show, we reflect on the gaming industry and why now is such a great time as a gamer and to be quite frank, the main reason why we love what we do as podcasters. Make sure you stay to the end, it is a discussion you do not want to miss.

The one thing I think Microsoft has to be careful with in terms of digital only software is retail. Retail giants like Walmart and Target have no real incentive to sale the consoles if they can’t sale the games. If Xbox goes digital only Walmart could threaten to pull the console from it’s stores and play hardball with Microsoft. Without the big box stores saleing the actual console, it’s a wrap!
